“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”(Proverbs 16:24 NIV)
If you are following me you will know that yesterday I complained that a hour had been stolen…. this morning I awoke an hour earlier than I needed to – so the hour was returned to me.
Today is another easy one! Catching up with friends. Over breakfast I went through my Messenger contacts and sent simple messages to each one that I hadn’t been in touch with for a while. I’ve enjoyed doing some catch up. People were pleased to hear from me. One of them, the last messages were about her son’s fiancé who is pregnant and has lost 2 previous babies and for whom I said I would pray. It just so happens that today is the day she is going into hospital for a stitch. So she was included in this morning’s prayer time.
My morning prayer time included a psalm (I use the Church of England morning prayer) and I was drawn to the words:
An offering of a free heart will I give you ♦
and praise your name, O Lord, for it is gracious. Psalm 54:6

I was reminded of a painting I did when in 2009, just after I had separated from my first husband and was off work, recovering and coming to terms with it. I may reproduce it again with those words.
I feel so blessed by God. He has been good to me and although my days are very busy, He always gets me through and his timing is perfect.
On my way back from the 2nd school assembly (the prodigal son) I was planning ahead to the Easter service that the school is doing. I have to get things ready for their rehearsal in church this Friday. I want to do a display using symbols of the Easter story, starting with Palm Sunday through to the resurrection. I have done it for serveral years as a Good Friday family service and I know it works well. No reason why it shouldn’t be adapted by the pupils as they tell the story. Just as I was walking down the road and wondering where on earth I would get some palm leaves I looked in a garden and lo and behold there was a palm tree. The person was in, we had a chat, and she is very pleased to get her husband to cut a few leaves down for me and leave them at the vicarage before Friday. Thank You Lord.
So I have come to the end of the afternoon, with a thankful heart for the day which also included a visit to a family to prepare for a funeral plus some admin.
This evening I am going to the art group in Denstone village. We are putting on an exhibition in a couple of weeks – dare I put any of my work in I wonder????
