Praying through the bible: the gospels and following Jesus

Here’s the next two double pages of my journalling and praying through Matthew, Mark and Luke’s gospels.

The 12 apostles are sent out to herald the coming of the kingdom with Jesus‘ authority. They believe and continue Jesus’ ministry of healing. However, like us all, they have times of unbelief, low faith and misunderstanding. Faith takes time to grow and develop. We see this with the first disciples as indeed we see it in our own lives. And how does Jesus react? With compassion and understanding, with an invitation to come to him, to have faith and to follow him. God reveals Jesus as his son, the beloved. We are to listen to him.
